We are taking a systematic and obsessive approach to testing every single rental home on the planet, and accepting only the top 1%.

We do so by putting every home through The Plum Test: a gruelling hospitality exam, which uses a mix of algorithms and physical visits by hospitality experts.

We launched in London in 2016. Since then, we have grown 20% month on month, vetted over 80,000 homes and reached over £11m in annualised sales. We are backed by an all-star cast investor group including Local Globe (TransferWise, OneFineStay, Citymapper), Octopus Ventures (Secret Escapes, Eve, Tails), BGF Ventures (Trouva, Roli, Gousto), Alex Chesterman (Founder of Zoopla), William Reeve (Founder of Love Film), Alex Saint and Troy Collins (Founders of Secret Escapes), Errol Damlin (Founder of Wonga) Jason Goodman (Founder of Albion) and many more.

We closed our Series A round of funding in late 2017. The objectives of this round are to take Plum global and continue to differentiate the brand and the experience for our Guests and Hosts.

The Role

A key USP at the Plum Guide is that we have a Team of MatchMakers who know our destinations and our homes. Our Guests can pick up the phone and talk to them so that they find the perfect match. We want to build this Team to be exceptional at sales and outstanding at service. You will manage, grow and coach this Team - developing skills, creating processes and inspiring greatness.

What does success look like?  The Sales Team Manager will have hit the ball out of the park if after 12 months you have:  

  1. Increased sales

  2. Built an extraordinary Team

  3. Implemented clear processes to ensure a productive workflow and increased conversion

  4. Driven up the post-booking NPS

What you’ll be up to

This is a highly entrepreneurial role that will quickly evolve and morph as the business develops. However, to bring it to life, here is what you can expect to be doing:

  1. Thinking and planning strategically and creatively to move the needle quickly while building for the future

  2. Supporting, inspiring and managing the Team through on-going coaching.

  3. Creating clear operating procedures which allow the Team to maximize their output through improved efficiencies

  4. Building the Team. Today the Team has 3 people in London and 1 in Hong Kong. This will increase quickly under your direction.

  5. Working across Teams - working closely with our Marketplace Team who handle the relationships with our Hosts and focus on growing our inventory, with the Business Development Team who focus on generating new business, with our speedy Product Team and more

  6. Being an advocate for the business
